Restrooms Needed at Parks

Restrooms Needed at Parks

The City of Mission Viejo's  6 year old park restroom plan  has laid dormant and needs to be revived and put into action. Children all over town are forced to go to the bathroom behind trees and squat in bushes like  animals because there are no restrooms at many of the parks used for athletics on the week-ends.  The $2.3+ million renovation of Pavion Park idea is a wonderful  with it's statues, fountains and elaborate equipment, but this plan should wait until there are enough toilets to use at the week-end athletic parks. Human feces has been discovered more than once  at Reilly Elementary after  week-end sports this case is not isolated. Other parks face the same problem. Don't allow our children to be relegated to  primitive, animalistic behavior. . This is  not a frivolous request. It  is  a health concern for our children and all residents. The MV City Council has their priorities wrong on this issue, choosing an elaborate park remodel over providing toilets for children.  Let your voices be heard.  Julie Tully
