UPDATE: A relative returned a registered sex offender to a medical facility in Mission Viejo today after sheriff's deputies asked for the public's help in finding him.
Louis Rivas, 48, was reported missing after being last seen Saturday about 4:15 p.m. at the medical building, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
It was unclear who reported Rivas missing. A relative returned Rivas to the facility today, Amormino said.
Rivas is considered a "low-level" sex offender, meaning authorities were not required by law to alert the community, but they did anyway, Amormino said.
