Assemblyman Donnelly Responds to Irked Patch Blogger

Assemblyman Tim Donnelly defended his office's responsiveness to constituents Friday after a Patch blogger wrote about difficulties he had in getting in touch with the assemblyman.

Donnelly said in an interview with Patch on Friday that he's talked to blogger Robert Parry and insisted that his office got back to Parry as soon as they could.

His office did not get a voicemail from Parry but responded to an email he sent, Donnelly said.

"We’ve made communication," Donnelly said. "He was not very effective in getting through in the timeframe that suited him."

Donnelly asked his constituents on Facebook whether they've had communication problems with his office:

After 2 years of serving the public in elected office, and many years of service as a volunteer, this is what I woke up to read this morning. Our office is blessed with some pretty extraordinary people who enable me to serve you. We pride ourselves on fighting gov't bureaucracies whenever it is possible and an appropriate use of state resources. I know this is probably crazy to ask on FB, but I'd like to know: Please let me know if you've attempted to contact my office and let me know have you been ignored as this blogger alleges or have your concerns been addressed. Also, let me know your suggestions for how to improve our outreach if you have any ideas. Godspeed.
