UPDATE: Missing Man Found in Apparent Suicide

Adapted from an Arcadia Police Department press release:

Authorities found Arcadia resident Mark Allen Craychee hanged Friday in an apparent suicide.

Family members reported Craychee, 55, missing. He has a history of psychological issues, and they feared he could be suicidal; he had attempted suicide in February.

Shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday, authorities located Craychee’s vehicle parked and unoccupied in a turnout along Santa Anita Canyon Road. Steep embankments lined the roadway both above and below the turnout.

Members of the assisted in the search. At about 9:30 a.m., rescuers recovered Craychee's body; he had hanged himself in a tree about 150 yards from his vehicle.

The Los Angeles County Coroner arrived on scene to remove the remains and the family was notified.
