Overview: is a family restaurant that has been on corner of Myrtle and Colorado since 1979. Patrons have long enjoyed the restaurant’s traditional American fare, generous portions and friendly service. The Monrovian also offers a banquet room which can be rented for parties, weddings, and business meetings.
Décor: The main dining room features large pink booths as well as some smaller booths and tables. Framed black and white photographs of historic scenes and local architecture hang on the walls. Outdoor seating on Myrtle Avenue is under a green awning at tables with green umbrellas. Their upstairs banquet room offers views of Old Town and is equipped with a full bar and dance floor.
Drinks: Juice, Soda, Lemonade, Iced Tea, Fruit Punch, and Milk. Hot drinks from the Coffee Bar ($1.89-$3.09) include Hot Chocolate, Hot Tea, Coffee, Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, and Herbal Tea. Alcoholic drinks include beer, wine and cocktails. A full bar is available.
Appetizers: Their homemade Zucchini, dipped in three kinds of breading, is very popular. Appetizers range from $4.69 for a small order of Zucchini to $9.49 for the Appetizer Combination, which includes Buffalo wings, chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, and zucchini. Other Appetizers include Chili Cheese Fries, Cheese or Chicken Quesadilla, and Onion Rings.
Sandwiches: The Monrovian Burger, a 1/3 lb beef patty with avocado and bacon, is a favorite. Hamburgers ($7.79-$8.29) and Hot Sandwiches come with your choice of fries, zucchini, onion rings, cole slaw, potato salad, fresh fruit, cottage cheese, soup or dinner salad, and include the Teriyaki Burger, the Green Chili Burger, and the Mushroom Hamburger. A Veggie or Turkey Patty may be substituted at no extra charge. Hot Sandwiches range from $6.29 for Grilled Cheese to $12.00 for a New York Steak Sandwich. Other Hot Sandwiches include the Chicken Melt, Broiled Chicken Breast, Avocado Melt, Hot Club, Patty Melt, Reuben, Tuna Melt, Beefeater or Hameater, Green Chili Beefeater, French Dip, Monte Cristo, Souvlaki, Gyro, Chicken Souvlaki, Hot Turkey, and Hot Beef Sandwich.
Cold Sandwiches range from $7.29 for an Egg Salad Sandwich to $8.69 for their popular Club Sandwich or Avocado Club. Other Sandwiches include Tuna, Turkey Salad, Cold Roast Beef, BLT, Sliced Roasted Turkey, Cold Ham, or the Asian Chicken Wrap with jasmine rice, cilantro, cabbage, and sesame ginger dressing. A Half Sandwich with soup or dinner salad is available for $6.99 with your choice of Turkey & Cheese, Ham & Cheese, Turkey Salad, Egg Salad, or Tuna.
Entrees: June’s specials, served Sunday-Wednesday from 5 pm-9pm, include Roast Turkey, Baked BBQ Chicken, Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta, Grilled Rainbow Trout, and Chicken Cobb Salad for $8.95. Entrees in the range of $9.99 to $14.69 include soup or salad, steam vegetables, dinner roll, and a choice of rice, mashed potatoes, french fries or baked potato after 5 p.m. Featured entrees include Chicken Fried Steak, Grilled Pork Chops, BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Grilled Beef Liver, Breaded Veal, Ground Beef Steak, Teriyaki Steak, Steak & Shrimp, Rib Eye Steak, and New York Steak. Their Prime Rib special on Fridays is also a favorite. Chicken Specialties include Lemon Chicken, Honey Dijon Chicken, Chicken Marsala, Deep Fried Chicken, Cajun Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, and Chicken Picatta. Seafood includes Fish & Chips, Deep Fried Scallops or Shrimp, Grilled Cod, and a Combination Seafood Plate.

Soups, Salads and Sides: Soups range from $3.69-$5.29. Their homemade vegetable soup is a favorite. Soup and Salad is available for $6.49 or $7.49 on Fridays with clam chowder. Salads range from $3.29 for a small Dinner Salad to $8.99 for Oriental Chicken, BLT Chicken, or Chicken Breast Salad. Other Salads include Tuna, Turkey, Chef’s Julienne, Seafood, and Greek Salad. Their Cobb Salad ($8.89) with tossed lettuce, diced turkey, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, egg, and bleu cheese crumbles, is a favorite.
