VFW Post Welcomes Holocaust Survivor
She was separated from her family soon after the Germans invaded her hometown of Brzeziny, Poland. Three days after the attack, two German soldiers ransacked her family’s home, stole their valuables and moved them to a small ghetto outside of town. Four years later she was sent to Ravensbruck and forced to sing songs extolling Germany’s superiority while making airplane parts for the war effort.
She never saw her mother again, but miraculously found her father. Some 6,000,000 Jews and other "undesirables" were exterminated during World War II.
The public is invited to attend her talk, entitled "A Civilian Perspective on World War II." Post 2070 is located at the corner of Magnolia and Chestnut, in Monrovia.
