TECH ROUND-UP: Google Street View Enters Redwood National Park

The Business Journal reported that the Scottish company Sensewhere will be opening a new office at 800 W. El Camino Real in Mountain View. Sensewhere gathers users indoor positioning from radio frequencies that is then sent to the users' mobile devices. In a press release Sensewhere's CEO  Rob Palfreyman said, "California is home to some of the world’s most innovative new companies; many of which are now keenly looking to utilise the extraordinary power of advanced indoor positioning to drive new revenue streams. ... As we expand and continue to enjoy success, The Valley really is the most logical place for us to be to engage with US customers."

Mountain View-based Synopsys plans on buying Taiwan's Springsoft, reports the San Jose Mercury News. The move is intended to strengthen Synopsys' presence in Asian, Europe and U.S. semiconductor markets. Synopsys is also currently constructing next to highway 237.

The that Google's Street View has entered five California National Parks, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. After getting permission from the Department of the Interior Google began it's filming. Other street views, part of the "refresh" California project, include the Big Sur coasline, Joshua Tree National Park, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, and the Redwood National Park at Crescent City.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Google will delay its upcoming Nexus Q launch to make improvements. Google did not give a revised release date and has stopped taking pre-orders for the devise, but, the LA Times said, those who did pre-order can expect their device in a matter of weeks. The Nexus Q, shaped like a ball, will play only Google Music, Google Play or YouTube videos.
