Readers' Choice: What's Your Favorite Japanese Restaurant?

Poll open until Friday 9 a.m.

Readers' Choice: What's Your Favorite Japanese Restaurant?

If you've seen Iron Chef, you've probably learned one thing about Japanese food—it isn't just about raw fish.

While sashimi may not be for everyone's palate, those who do choose to indulge can tell you the subtle flavors of each raw fish, from the popular tuna and salmon, to sea urchin.

And while there can be raw fish in sushi, the term sushi is for dishes that have rice, like the rolls—inside-out rolls, handrools, hand-formed rolls and fat rolls. Remember the first time you had a California roll? No raw fish in there!

Then of course, there's teriyaki, a culinary style where the meat is grilled in a sweet soy sauce marinade. Usually, if you order a bento box you'll also get vegetables or shrimp tempura, the lightly fried side dish.

Or perhaps you are more in the mood for udon, the delicious hot noodle soup; or gyozas (or dumplings)?

What's great about Japanese food is that there's something for everyone and here in Mountain View there are definitely a lot of options.

What's your favorite Japansese restaurant in the city?

Cast your votes in our poll and drop a comment about why you think your favorite place is worth a visit. Click on the links above and rate the business on its Patch Directory listing. You can even leave a review.

Voting in the poll is open until 9 a.m. Friday. The winner will be determined using a point system based on the most verified votes together with the best ratings in businesses' directory listings. In case of a tie, the business with the highest number of positive reviews in the listings and comments in the Readers' Choice article will be declared the winner. Voting results posted in real time shall not be deemed official until Patch has reviewed and confirmed all of the votes.
