Jail Inmate Found Dead In French Valley Lockup
Sheriff's officials are investigating the death of the Riverside County inmate.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Sheriff's officials on Monday were investigating the weekend death of an inmate who had been locked up in at a housing facility in Southwest Riverside County. The adult male, who was not immediately identified, was found "unresponsive within his cell" at the Cois Byrd Detention Center on Saturday.
According to the sheriff's department, the man was found around 4 a.m. and "life-saving measures" were performed, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"There are no signs of foul play and due to the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time," the sheriff's department said in a news release.
