Electric power was cut for more than 1,000 businesses and homes in Murrieta Saturday.
The blackout was reported shortly after 7 a.m. on La Serena Way, about four miles east of Highway 79, and initially affected 1,054 accounts.
By 10 a.m., power had been restored to all but 176 accounts, Southern California Edison spokeswoman Caroline Aoyagi said.
Full restoration was expected by 11:30 a.m., and its cause was not immediately known, Aoyagi said.
