Murrieta Toddler Seriously Injured in Third-Story Fall

A toddler suffered serious injuries Monday when he fell from the third story of an apartment building in Murrieta, according to police.

The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. at the Camden Vineyards apartment complex at 24323 Jackson Avenue, Murrieta police Lt. Rob Firmes said.

"The 3-year-old was able to get up to the window and push the screen out," Firmes said. "He landed on an eave and then on the ground," Firmes said.

The boy was life-flighted out with "pretty serious injuries," Firmes said.

Police were still waiting for word on whether the boy was expected to survive his injuries, according to Firmes.

"At this time the incident appears to be accidental," Firmes said.
