Now that Napa city staffers have given Starbucks Coffee the green light to open at the corner of First and Main streets downtown, opponents have until June 18 to appeal the decision in writing, according to the Napa Valley Register.

Opponents of the plan by café giant Starbucks to open an outlet kitty-corner from a longtime, locally-owned coffee shop in downtown Napa are meeting tonight to determine their next steps, according to a report by Chantal M. Lovell in the .

City staff gave approval Friday to a Starbucks application to redesign the building exterior, Lovell writes.

The proposed Starbucks, formerly the and before that , is located diagonally across the intersection from Napa Valley Coffee Roasters at Main and First streets.

Members of the public have until 5 p.m. June 18 to appeal the staff decision in writing, but by Monday afternoon the city had received no written appeals, according to Lovell's Register report.
