Silver Oak Cellars, Far Niente Winery, Pride Mountain Vineyards, Gargiulo Vineyards and Casa Piena are involved, along with David Pack, former singer-songwriter Ambrosia, who conceived and produced the project.
The Napa Crossroads release party benefits the Arts Council Napa Valley and The Music Connection, and includes a wine reception, silent auction, with three-course dinner provided by City Winery expertly paired with wines from the Napa Crossroads vintners.
The evening culminates with a performance featuring
The Silverado Pickups, and David Pack and the Napa Crossroads band with surprise guests, including actor/musician Robert Schwartzman, who is featured on the “Full House, Full Heart” track on the album.
Napa Crossroads is a five-year-in-the-making music project from Grammy® Award winning Pack, in association with David Duncan of Silver Oak, Larry Maguire of Far Niente, Suzanne Pride Bryan of Pride Mountain, Jeff Gargiulo of Gargiulo Vineyards and Carmen Policy of Casa Piena.
Each collaborated on two tracks, along with contributions from special guests, culminating in 14 tracks of original material.
Guest stars on the album include The Doors' Ray Manzarek, Bela Fleck, Alan Parsons, Todd Rundgren, David Benoit, Billy Dean, Jimmy Wayne, Larry Carlton, Doyle Dykes, Mindi Abair, Robert Schwartzman, Cage The Elephant's Lincoln Parish and Rick Braun.
All songs, which include one of the final recordings of the late Manzarek, were produced by Pack and written and recorded in Napa Valley beginning May 2009.
