Napa Letter: Parking "Horror" at Napa Crossing

"Who approved and laid out this center? What do the businesses who are located in this center think about all the money they are losing because of a poorly laid out parking area!??" asks Napa resident and businessman Gary Thompson.

Napa Letter: Parking "Horror" at Napa Crossing

Hi Louisa -

I wanted to send through my opinion on something that's happening here in Napa. Have you all experienced the horror of the new LEED certified center at the Napa Crossing?

I was SO excited to see this new center open - with all of these amazing places to eat and shop! But what's been happening makes me shun the center and hence, I am choosing not to patronize places that I adore.

What I am talking about is the parking!

Try to go there during lunch or dinner and you find yourself driving around a myriad of ill-laid-out-parking spaces, racing to the next spot that you think may open, only to be thwarted by someone who had already spied the space!

Drive around the block and experience the same thing - NO PARKING!

What miffs me about this more than anything else is when you drive by in the a.m., the lot is nearly full - so what that tells me is that almost all the employees of the various centers are taking up valuable parking!

Who approved and laid out this center? What do the businesses who are located in this center think about all the money they are losing because of a poorly laid out parking area!??

I just don't get it at all. There is an empty lot across the street that is waiting for, get this, more buildings to suck up even more parking!

Why doesn't the developer open an actual parking lot with a walkway bridge that allows people to conveniently park and safely get to the place they want to go? Does anyone know if anything has been done about this albatross of a center?

I sure would like to hear what others have to say!

What is the city doing about this? What are the tenants doing and saying about this?

I can’t believe that I am the only one who is completely frustrated with the absolute poor planning of that center!
