Napa Shooting Suspect Surrenders to Police

A 20-year-old Vacaville man is being held on suspicion of attempted murder and violation of parole in connection with Wednesday afternoon's shooting on Colina Court, according to this news release from the City of Napa Police Department.

Napa police say they have arrested the man suspected of in the leg Wednesday afternoon, according to the following news release from the investigations desk at the :

On 9/5/12, at 1:33 PM, Napa Police were dispatched to a reported shooting victim outside the 2400 block of Colina Court. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim (22 year old male, Napa) in a nearby parking lot. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg.

Napa Fire Department and AMR ambulance personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center. The victim was admitted at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center and is in stable condition.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic Male Adult, bald head, grey shirt and last seen driving away in a gold Honda Civic on Freeway Drive toward Imola Ave. 

Members of the Napa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit and Investigations Bureau developed additional investigative leads with the assistance of the Vacaville Police Department. On 9/6/12, Napa Police served a search warrant in the 200 block of Bennett Hill Court in Vacaville. Evidence was found that identified Diego Alexander Espinoza-Alamo (age 20) a Vacaville resident, as the suspect. Espinoza-Alamo was on Parole for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. 

On 9/7/12, at 8:30 AM, Espinoza-Alamo turned himself in at the Napa Police Department. He was arrested without incident and booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections for Attempted Murder and Violation of Parole.
