"Steve has sustained injuries throughout the left side of his body, but the most severe are in his brain," according to the Plumfund page set up to help offset medical bills for the Schenkenberger family. "He had emergency surgery the same night where they removed a piece of skull where he had a blood clot, which relieved pressure. He continues to have brain swelling and the medical bills are starting to pile up."
The facebook group prayforSteveSchenkenberger continues to release updates on Shenkenberger's condition. A prayer gathering of family and friends is scheduled at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Mission Hospital Chapel.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash was urged to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
