2 Killed in Canoga Park Shooting

An armed security guard allegedly shot and killed two men who attempted to rob a nightclub.

CANOGA PARK, CA — A predawn shootout at a strip club in Canoga Park has left two men dead and a security guard as well as another person wounded.

"Two male suspects entered the club (prior to the shooting) and itappears that they were 'casing' it (the club),'' according to Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.

Gunfire at the Xposed Gentleman's Club, 8229 Canoga Ave., erupted about 4:20 a.m. when the two suspects were stopped by security guards and there were an exchange of gunfire, Lopez said. Security guards shot dead both men. A security guard and another person were wounded in the gunfire exchange.

Paramedics transported both men to an area hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, he said.

"Inside, when the officers arrived, there was a great deal of chaos,security guards contacted them, said that they'd had a shooting inside, thattwo men, at least two men, had entered, with an apparent attempt to rob the place,'' Capt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department told ABC7. Vernon added that guns were recovered at the scene from both dead suspects. No other suspects are being sought at this time.
