“We plan for The Grove Northridge to continue to meet and exceed the retail and restaurant experiences that our guests and patrons in the area have enjoyed for more than 35 years.”
The broad mix of tenants consistently provides the products and services for the surrounding community featuring merchants of various sizes with creative, unique and moderately priced goods. The center provides free parking with more than 580 spaces in its expansive parking lot.
New Logo and Brand Campaign
The new logo and brand campaign will update the Northridge Grove Shopping Center with a new name “The Grove Northridge” and new logo with The Grove in earth tones with a walnut tree illustration in the color green centered between the two words. Northridge is positioned beneath Grove and is also green. The design was chosen to connect The Grove Northridge to the property’s original use as a walnut grove and its original name of Walnut Grove Shopping Center.
New Facade Colors and Signage
The four buildings that make up The Grove Northridge will feature a unique and vibrant combination of Sherwin Williams paint including primary facade colors of Amber Wave, Quite Coral, Peace Yellow, Concord Buff, Cupola Yellow and Resonant Blue. The secondary colors for the accent and trim include Colonial Revival Tan, Beige, New Colonial Yellow, Rockwood Amber, Craftsman Brown, Plymouth Green, Anjou Pear, Harvest Gold, Yam, Enduring Bronze, Pearly White, and Ivory Lace.
Three renewed shopping center pylon signs will be painted to match the center’s new paint color scheme and enhanced with renovated tenant signage face-lit channel letters and logos with internal LED illumination. These signs will mark the way with one on Nordhoff Street and two on Tampa Avenue featuring tenant rows. A new concave center ID monument sign featuring The Grove Northridge will anchor the corner of Tampa Avenue and Aliso Canyon Wash.
Also, several buildings will be capped with new standing metal seam roofs in a Weathered Copper color and the exterior will be accentuated with uniquely designed 13 x 13-inch ceramic tiles. These natural clay accent tiles are hand-made and hand-painted, becoming a culturally artistic element of the renovated center. The ceramic tile design will also be used in several lighting applications throughout the property.
New Landscaping and Lighting
In light of California’s drought situation and statewide encouragement for water conservation, the planters located throughout The Grove Northridge will be replanted with water conserving plants and low volume irrigation systems, multiple turf areas will be removed to curtail water consumption and an assortment of drought-tolerant shrubs and groundcover will be planted.
A variety of new lighting will enhance The Grove Northridge pedestrian walkways with new state-of-the-art architectural LED fixtures mounted under the canopies and built into the exterior walls of each building. New, motion-controllable, LED parking lights will be installed at a height of 23 feet. This will increase visibility in the parking lot to just under four foot-candles, more than twice that of recommended security lighting levels, providing an even safer environment for shoppers.
