SigAlert On I-5 South: Car Fire Closes Lane Near Weldon Canyon

WELDON CANYON, CA — A car fire on the Interstate-5 freeway has resulted in an ongoing SigAlert, closing the number one lane on the southbound side of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Peter Nicholson said that the car fire has since been put out, however, the oil spill resulting from the fire is currently being cleaned by Caltrans workers. Commuters are advised to avoid the area.
