Oceanside Police Investigating Man's Body Found In Canoe

Oceanside Police discovered a man's body found in a canoe near Pacific Street on Friday night after receiving reports around 6 pm.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Officers from the Oceanside Police Department responded to a report Friday night around 6 pm of a possible body in a canoe located in the riverbed of the 1000 block of North Pacific Street.

Upon arrival on the scene, officers found a man identified as a white male in his 50’s dead inside the canoe. The cause of death is under investigation and the medical examiner will conduct an autopsy. The man’s identity has not been released, pending notification of the next of kin.
