Car Crash Starts Small Brush Fire Off 133 Toll Road Near Irvine
The crash took place about 3:35 p.m. on the 133 toll road.

IRVINE, CA -- A car that crashed off the 133 toll road Sunday started a small brushfire near Irvine, according to the Orange County Fire Authority. The crash took place about 3:35 p.m. on the 133 toll road where it intersects with the 73 toll road, said Fire Authority Capt. Alan Wilkes. The crash is in an unincorporated area between Irvine and Alisa Viejo.
The car caught fire and the fire spread to nearby brush, burning about one-quarter of an acre, Wilkes said.
Fire Authority units were handling the blaze and firefighters have established strong lines around the fire, Wilkes added.

Firefighters expected to be there about two hours to put out the fire and monitor any hot spots, he said.
