Car Fire Along 91 Freeway At Weir Canyon Offramp Jams Traffic

The 91 was backed up for miles in the Anaheim Hills area due to a car fire, officials say.

ANAHEIM HILLS, CA — California Highway Patrol closed the eastbound 91 freeway Weir Canyon Offramp Thursday after a car caught fire, officials say.

Just after 1 p.m. an RV caught fire in the area of the 91 Freeway and the Weir Canyon Road offramp, California Highway Patrol dispatch said. The offramp was closed as fire officials arrived to put out the fire.

The RV was on the offramp, just south of the 91, blocking the southbound lanes according to reports from the scene, dispatch said.

A propane tank was the source of the blaze, according to officials. Fire personnel arrived at the scene while California Highway Patrol closed the offramp.

They expected it would 30 minutes until the RV was removed from the scene.
