Authorities sought the public's help in finding a driver who struck and killed a federal court judge's son in an apparent hit-and-run in Pacific Palisades.
David Pregerson, 23, was found in some bushes on Chautauqua Boulevard, just west of its intersection with Sunset Boulevard, about 3:20 a.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.
The son of U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson and the grandson of U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Harry Pregerson died at a hospital on Tuesday.
Detectives have scoured the 900 block of Chautauqua Boulevard looking for clues, but it was unclear if they have found any witnesses or car parts that might identify the vehicle that hit the young man.
David Pregerson was a recent graduate of UCLA and was working as a film producer.
A 1 p.m. Friday memorial service was planned at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple at 3663 Wilshire Blvd. in Koreatown.
Anyone with information about the case was urged to contact West Traffic Division Detectives at (213) 473-0234. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
