Power Outage Turns out the Lights for 500 in Pacific Palisades

About 500 customers near the Pacific Palisades area were without electricity today for close to six hours, a utility official said.

The outage near Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue occurred from 3:40 a.m., without power being fully restored at 9:30 a.m., said Albert Rodriguez of the Department of Water and Power.

Rodriguez said it was not immediately known what caused the outage.

Police could not confirm radio traffic reports that a downed power pole had blocked Sunset Boulevard near Allenford Avenue, between the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood.
