Bees Attack 4 In Palm Desert, Critical Injuries Reported
The swarm of bees attacked multiple people on Tuesday morning, fire officials report.

PALM DESERT, CA — A person has been hospitalized in critical condition after being attacked by a swarm of bees in Palm Desert, fire officials report. Three other people were hurt in the ordeal, but their injuries were described as minor and they did not go to the hospital.
The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Strada Noda, near Country Club Drive, according to April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.
"Firefighters arrived on scene with multiple bees in the area," Newman said of the incident.

Two victims made their way to a county medic and were treated at the scene, she said. A third person who had holed up in their home was also treated.
"Firefighters located and extricated the fourth victim from an outside pool," Newman said. "The fourth victim was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital in critical condition."

Vector control officials were called to the scene and "mitigated" the swarm by 11:55 a.m., according to Newman.
