Canadian Resident Identified in Deadly Palm Desert Crash

Authorities have identified a 77-year-old Toronto man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Palm Desert.

John Greene was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which was reported shortly after 5 p.m. Monday on westbound Dinah Shore Drive east of Toni Drive, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

The vehicle was found in desert scrub off the road with Greene inside, Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Bradley Stone said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash, Stone said. The sheriff's department is still investigating what caused the accident.
