Desert Hot Springs City Manager Announces Resignation

Martin Magana served as City Manager since May 2014

Desert Hot Springs, CA– Desert Hot Springs City Manager Martin Magana has announced his resignation, effective July 21, city officials said Wednesday.

Magana served as City Manager since May 2014 and was Desert Hot Springs' Community Development Director for five years prior to that. According to the city, Magana resigned "for personal reasons."

Mayor Scott Matas said the city has not yet begun searching for Magana's replacement, but that Police Chief Dale Mondary would serve as acting City Manager in the interim.

A release from the city characterized Magana's work in Desert Hot Springs as "commendable, reliable and exemplary, and he will be missed greatly by members of the City Council and his staff."
