Drink Beer for a Good Cause: Fundraiser at La Quinta Brewing

La Quinta Brewing Co. will hold a fundraiser in which tips will benefit the Desert Cancer Foundation on Thursday, a spokeswoman for the organization said.

“This is a great way to bring friends and supporters together for a worthy cause, while also having a good time,” said Paula Simonds, the foundation’s executive director. “We look forward to many more of these gatherings and invite everyone to join the fun in raising money and awareness.”

Community members will serve as guest bartenders from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and $2 from each pint sold and all tips will benefit the foundation, spokeswoman Kristy Kneiding said.

This is the second time the nonprofit organization will host the event at the brewery at 77917 Wildcat Drive in Palm Desert. Its inaugural event last month garnered more than $1,000 from tips and proceeds donated by La Quinta Brewing Company, Kneiding said.

The foundation helps pay for financially disadvantaged patients.
