Fire officials say that two victims were rushed to the hospital via a helicopter.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Five people were injured Thursday — two of them seriously — in a Chiriaco Summit freeway crash that set three vehicles ablaze, fire officials report. The 6:39 a.m. crash happened on eastbound Interstate 10, near Hayfield Road, according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"The traffic collision involved three semi trucks; two of which were well involved with fire and one passenger vehicle," she said.

The two people who hurt the worst were airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition, according to Cabral. The three remaining victims were taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries.
