'First Wednesday Art Walk' This Week In Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS, CA – Palm Springs will host a mid-week art walk at its Backstreet Art District, it was announced today.

The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and will begin at 2600 South Cherokee Way, behind the Mercedes dealership at Highway 111 and East Palm Canyon Drive, event spokeswoman Kathleen Bennett said.

The Backstreet Art District hosts an art walk on the first Wednesday of every month as part of their "First Wednesday Art Walk'' campaign.

This week's event will feature the artwork of seven galleries, including the work of Jere Allen, an internationally recognized figure painter.

Lake Elsinore guitarist Vince Mendoza will provide musical entertainment.

Mendoza regularly plays at wineries, weddings and casinos in Temecula, Bennett said.

Guests can also sample cakes made by artist Taylor Narz.
