Lou Christie Starts Stint with the Palm Springs Follies

Christie's first performance is a 1:30 p.m. matinee.

Singer Lou Christie will start his stint with the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies today.

Christie's first performance is a 1:30 p.m. matinee. Singer Lorna Luft, a daughter of Judy Garland, opened the Follies' 22nd season, themed  "Dance to the Music," in November. Other guest stars this season include singer Lesley Gore and Hula Hoop performer Mat Plendl. The season ends May 19.

Christie, who has been in show business for 50 years, is probably best known for his 1966 hit "Lightnin' Strikes."

The Follies has a cast of 16 singers and dancers ranging in age from 56- 86, who perform pieces from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

Tickets can be purchased by calling (760) 327-0225 or visiting www.psfollies.com.
