Man Found Dead On Palm Desert Hiking Trail

PALM DESERT, CA -- A Rancho Mirage man died on a hiking trail near Palm Desert last night in an incident that remained under investigation today.

Mark Myden, 61, was found face down near the Bump and Grind and Mike Schuler hiking trails by witnesses who reported a medical emergency to county firefighters.

Fire crews responded at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday and located Myden, who died of his injuries before their arrival, said April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The Riverside County Coroner's Office listed Myden's time of death as 9:15 p.m., but no cause of death was released.
