Palm Desert Zoo Sets Annual Attendance Record for Third Straight Year

PALM DESERT/INDIAN WELLS, CA – (September 6, 2016) – The Living Desert President/CEO Allen Monroe recently announced that park attendance this past fiscal year (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016) reached an all-time-high of more than 408,100 guests, surpassing last year’s record by more than 2,600 guests.

While most widely known for its native and exotic animals and desert gardens, The Living Desert also hosts popular annual events and festivities that contributed to the zoo’s rising attendance, many of which drew record-breaking crowds.

The Living Desert is an independent, non-profit organization that relies on ticket sales, annual gifts and philanthropic support for the educational programs that benefit the residents and visitors to the Coachella Valley.

“Each time someone visits The Living Desert or attends one of our special events, they help save endangered species,” said Monroe. “The funds we raise through admission, memberships, programs and events, help us provide the best possible care for our rare animals and protect wild populations thru conservation research projects we conduct and support.”
