Palm Springs Woman Accused of DUI in Rancho Mirage

Palm Springs Woman Accused of DUI in Rancho Mirage
A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI Wednesday evening in Rancho Mirage, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Police responded at 5:41 p.m. Dec. 4 to a report of a two-vehicle collision in the area of Country Club and Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage police Sgt. Patrick Carroll said in a statement.

"The investigation determined a beige Toyota coupe was traveling east on Country Club Drive approaching Bob Hope Drive," Carroll said. "The driver failed to stop in time for the signaled red light at the intersection and rear-ended a silver Ford truck."

The driver of the Toyota identified as Nancy Margaret Cobb, 70, of Palm Springs. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked at Indio Jail. She was released Thursday morning on $2,500 bail and she has a court date in January, according to inmate records.

"No injuries were sustained and it is believed that alcohol consumption was a factor in this collision," Carroll said.

Anyone who witnessed this collision was urged to call the Rancho Mirage police Traffic Division at (760) 836-1600,  reference case #S13 338 0047.
