Second Suspect Arrested in Palm Desert Attempted Bank Robbery Second Suspect Arrested in Palm Desert Attempted Bank Robbery

The second of two suspects accused of trying to rob a Palm Desert bank this week has been arrested and identified as a Compton man, police said Thursday.

Through their investigation into the Dec. 17 attempted robbery at the Bank of America on Monterey Ave. at Dinah Shore Drive, police pegged Roeling Adams, 34, as the second suspect, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Tom Brewster.

Adams was taken into custody at his probation officer's office in Compton and and booked into the jail in downtown Riverside Thursday afternoon, according to jail records.

The other suspect, 34-year-old Ross Elliott Davis of Hemet, was arrested Monday -- the same day as the attempted robbery, which was reported about 9:05 a.m. at a Bank of America branch at 34-420 Monterey Ave.

Two men entered the bank, one brandishing a firearm, and passed a note to the teller demanding money, Brewster said. The teller didn't give the pair any money, and they left, Brewster said.

Sheriff's deputies found a man fitting the description of one of the suspects in the parking lot of a nearby business and arrested him. The other suspect was seen getting into the passenger seat of a silver or gray Chrysler PT Cruiser, which left before deputies arrived, Brewster said.

Davis was being held on $35,000 bail at the county jail in Indio.
