SoCal Quake Felt Locally... Did YOU Feel It?

The San Jacinto Mountains and surrounding areas were rattled Sunday by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Automated sensors recorded the quake at 12:47 a.m. about six miles southeast of Valle Vista in Riverside County, or about 19 miles west-southwest of Palm Springs, the USGS reported.

Residents all across the Coachella Valley and western Riverside County reported light to moderate shaking. The quake was felt from Indio to the San Fernando Valley and as far south as San Diego.

Several people from Banning, Beaumont and Palm Desert all reported feeling the quake, using the U.S.G.S. 'did you feel it' tool.

No damage was reported.
