Strange Odor Forces Ralphs Grocery Evacuation In Indio

INDIO, CA — A Ralphs in Indio was temporarily evacuated Thursday due to a strange odor inside, but crews were unable to determine the source.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded at 7:19 a.m. to the store in the 49900 block of Jefferson Street.

Officials were unsure what the odor was, but the grocery store was evacuated as a precaution.

After several hours examining the scene, firefighters were unable to locate the source of the odor, but they cleared the store to reopen by late morning.
