Eisenhower Medical Center will hold its first transgender symposium Jan. 10, featuring guest lecturers and physicians with special expertise in transgender health care, a hospital spokeswoman said today.
The symposium will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs and is billed as “an excellent educational opportunity for both medical professionals and members of the transgender community.”
Attendees will hear from guest lecturers from the University of Southern California and University of California, San Francisco, and meet Eisenhower physicians. Among the discussion topics will be mental health assessment and care of transgender patients, and medical and mental health needs of gender non- conforming children and transgender adolescents.
