At 1:52 p.m. on Friday, a male hiker found two pooped-out women on the Cactus to Clouds Trail from Palm Springs to San Jacinto Peak, said Sgt. Frank Guarino of the Palm Springs Police Department. The two hikers could no longer walk and needed help to get down the mountain.
Crew members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Air Operations Division and the Palm Springs Mounted Search and Rescue hoisted the hikers out by helicopter and flew them to the O’Donnell Golf Course in Palm Springs, said Guarino.
