8 Home Burglaries Reported in 8 Days

Homeowners in Palo Alto have been the victims of a mini-crime wave over the past few weeks, with a total of eight home burglaries appearing in the Palo Alto Police Department Report Logs. (A ninth residential burglary was in the log, but the address listed is a hotel.)

In most cases, police don’t reveal what has been stolen, but here’s a look at the locations of the burglaries reporter Feb. 8 – Feb. 15:

2/15/2013 700 block of Christine Drive
Unknown suspect stole appliances from home.

2/13/2013  (unspecified block of) Cowper Street
No further information is currently available.

2/11/2013 2400 block of Bryant Street
Items were stolen. 

2/11/2013 400 block of West Charleston Road  
Stolen bicycles.

2/11/2013 2700 block of Kipling Street
Forced entry; items taken. 

2/10/2013 1500 block of Alma Street
Items were stolen. 

2/10/2012 2400 block of Waverley Street
Items were stolen. 

2/08/2013  1800 block of Edgewood Drive
Unknown suspects entered the residence and took several items.

A surge in residential burglaries last year prompted the police department to launch the “Lock It or Lose It!” campaign, which was designed to help residents reduce the threat of becoming a victim.
