The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

Palos Verdes Crime: Drugs at PV High

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Sept. 30 through last Saturday. The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Oct. 2 through last Tuesday.

This week's police reports include a student's alleged possession of narcotics at Palos Verdes High School, elderly financial abuse and another assault with a vehicle.

Palos Verdes Estates

Possession/Sales of Narcotics

Oct. 3, 9:48 a.m., 600 block of Cloyden Road (Palos Verdes High School)
Police arrested a student at Palos Verdes High School on suspicion of possession of narcotics with intent to sell to minors on a school campus. The suspect was also allegedly in possession of tobacco.

DUI

Oct. 2, 10:24 p.m., 2300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
While conducting a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Oct. 6, 2:05 a.m., Palos Verdes Boulevard and Calle Mayor
While conducting a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Oct. 7, 3:10 a.m., 200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
While conducting a traffic stop, an officer arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Theft

Oct. 3, 4000 block of Via Nivel
Over the course of four months, an unknown individual stole six pieces of gold jewelry from a bedroom.

Financial Elder Abuse

Oct. 4, 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Unknown persons were perpetuating elder financial abuse, police said.

Assault

Oct. 6, 3:20 a.m., intersection of Granvia Altimara and Via Del Monte
Police believe a driver purposely struck a pedestrian with his vehicle. Police said another driver on the road then intentionally crashed her car into the vehicle that hit the pedestrian before fleeing. The first driver was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and the hit pedestrian was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dirk or dagger and violation of probation. Officer were unable to located the second driver.

Burglary

Oct. 7, 7:00 p.m., 700 block of Paseo del Mar
Unknown persons entered a residence through an unsecured second story balcony. They vandalized three laptop computers and took numerous personal items from the home.

Burglary Arrest

Oct. 8, 2:15 a.m., 3200 block of Palos Verdes Drive North
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver on three felony warrants including suspicion of burglary, suspicion of possession of stolen property, suspicion of possession of burglary tools and suspected identity theft. The passenger was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and alleged possession of a police radio scanner to assist in the commission of a crime.

Rancho Palos Verdes

Deputies did not arrest anyone during this time period.

Residential Burglaries

Oct. 2, Oceanaire Drive
A burglar entered a residence through the front door and took an unknown amount of items.

Oct. 4, 5500 block of Seaside Heights
Someone entered a residence through a side door and took jewelry from the home.

Grand Theft (Vehicle)

Sept. 14 - Oct. 3, 3080 block of Casilina
The driver's side mirror of a vehicle was stolen by an unknown individual.

Vehicle Burglaries

Oct. 4 - 5, 6700 block of Los Verdes Drive
An unknown person smashed the rear passenger window of a vehicle and took an unknown amount of items.

Oct. 4 - 5, 6700 block of Los Verdes Drive
An unknown person smashed the front passenger window of a vehicle and took a laptop from the car.

Oct. 4 - 5, 32500 block of Seacliff
An unknown person broke into a vehicle and stole a purse.

Rolling Hills Estates

No arrests were reported during this period.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon

Sept. 18, Palos Verdes Drive East and Harbor Sight Drive
No further information was available.

Arson (Property)

Sept. 30, 700 block of Silver Spur
An unknown person lit a public building on fire.

Westfield

No crimes or arrests were reported during this period.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests were reported.
