Sebastopol Fisherman Found Dead At Riverfront Regional Park

A Sebastopol man was found dead at Riverfront Regional Park near Windsor on Wednesday afternoon.

WINDSOR - A Sebastopol man who was found dead at Riverfront Regional Park southwest of Windsor on Wednesday afternoon likely suffered a medical emergency, a Sonoma County sheriff's sergeant said Thursday.

Michael Christopher Panas, 71, was found dead around 4:40 p.m. on the riverbank at the park at 7821 Eastside Road in unincorporated Sonoma County, sheriff's Sgt. Cecile Focha said.

Fishing gear was found at the scene, and there was no sign of trauma or foul play, Focha said.
