Woman Armed with Broken Glass Arrested in Domestic Dispute
A woman who allegedly cut herself in the arms with a piece of glass and threatened to kill a man was arrested in Petaluma on Friday afternoon, a police sergeant said.
Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident in the 100 block of East Court around noon, Sgt. Ken Savano said.
The man had told dispatchers that he was the victim of multiple battery incidents and a woman threatened to kill him and injure herself, Savano said.
Before officers arrived, the woman broke a window in the house and armed herself with a piece of broken glass, he said.
Arriving officers deployed lethal and less lethal weapons including tasers and bean bag grounds, he said.
When officers approached the woman she dropped the piece of glass and was taken into custody without incident, Savano said.
She was treated on the scene and transported for medical clearance before she was booked into Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
The man was not injured during the incident, according to Savano.
The Petaluma Fire Department also assisted in the incident.
