'Brave' Wins Golden Globe for Piedmont Resident

Director Mark Andrews, a Piedmont resident, and executive producer Katherine Sarafian of Oakland were on hand Sunday night to accept the award when Brave was honored as the best animated feature film at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills Sunday.

The Pixar film has also been nominated for an Oscar.

The story of Merida, a spunky Highlands princess, won out over Frankenweenie, Rise of the Guardians, Hotel Transylvania and Wreck-It Ralph. It was the sixth win for Pixar in seven years.
