Pleasanton Unified School District is pleased to announce the Teacher of the Year for 2014-15 is Lisa Highfill, PUSD’s Instructional Technology Coach.
Ms. Highfill has been with the district for 20 years. Previously, Ms. Highfill taught fifth grade at Fairlands Elementary School. She is currently serving as an Instructional Coach focusing on technology in support of student learning. Lisa also is a Google Certified Teacher and a YouTube Star Teacher. Her colleagues describe her as a wonderful instructor of children, an inspiring teacher not only for students, but also for her peers.
“Lisa Highfill had a tremendous impact on her students when she taught at Fairlands, but as an instructional coach her influence on teaching and learning has exponentially increased,” said Parvin Ahmadi, PUSD Superintendent. “By helping teachers get to a deeper level in their craft and incorporate technology into their lessons, her ideas and experience can now enrich many more lives. Lisa has the utmost appreciation and respect for her fellow teachers with the goal of helping them draw students in & make learning irresistible.”
Ms. Highfill’s name will be submitted to the Alameda County Office of Education for the county’s Teacher of the Year program.
