'Trashion Show' Returns to Sunol for Earth Week

The annual event helps teach kids how to think differently about waste.

'Trashion Show' Returns to Sunol for Earth Week
The 5th Annual Sunol Glen Trashion Show is an event culminating a variety of week-long environmental activities hosted during Earth Week, April 28-May 2.

The goal of this extremely popular event is to get students at this Bay Area K-8th Grade school thinking differently about waste in order to create positive behavior change.

From Fashion Design to Stage Set to Lighting & Sound, there are many moving parts that make this annual event a real hands-on educational experience that has grown year-over-year.

With 16 participants in our first year to an astounding 37 participants in 2011, 47 in 2012, and 50 kids in 2013, the 2014 Sunol Glen Trashion Show is set to bring a record number of student participants who will put on a show that will engage, delight and amaze their audience.

May 1 at 7:15 p.m.-8:00 p.m. • Open to public & press

We find fun in the trash.  We combine visual and performance art, fashion, sustainability education, interactive activities and entertainment.  We don't just inspire our participating students; we inspire our audience to reconsider their consumption and disposal choices in a playful, yet provocative and highly memorable way.

The Annual Sunol Glen Trashion Show Event has been featured over the years in Diablo Magazine, Tri-Valley Times, The Independent, Tri-City Voice, Pleasanton Patch, San Jose Mercury News, The Sunolian and the National Environmental Education Week.  We aim to impact our community uniquely and positively by providing some of the most memorable entertainment around.
