Night Wasn't Right For This Activity

Sheriff deputies were called after a resident noticed suspicious activity well after the sun went down.

Night Wasn't Right For This Activity

There's a time for work, a time for play, and—believe it or not—a time for cutting down trees.

But as far as the latter is concerned, nighttime is not the right time.

According to the blotter of the Orange County Sheriff's Department, a Rancho Santa Margarita woman called 9-1-1 to report that someone was cutting down trees on her property.

Given that growing trees is something more than a weeklong project, knocking down the trees would be bad enough. But what apparently got the attention of the woman was that the work was taking place at 9:30 at night.

The trees were located on a hill behind the lady's home.

Rancho Santa Margarita achieved "Tree City USA" status in 2008.

The call was made Thursday, 9:29 p.m., from Paseo Primero.

This report was culled from the Orange County Sheriff's website. Not all facts in each report are made public; the outcome of the report, as well as the facts, may differ from the original blotter item. All items are alleged to have occurred. There should be no assumption of guilt based on this limited information.
