Truck Fire On I-10 Prompts Delays In Redlands
The blaze sent a large smoke plume into the area, near Ford Street in Redlands.
REDLANDS, CA — Crews doused a vehicle fire on Tuesday afternoon alongside Interstate 10 in Redlands. California Highway Patrol reports indicated a fire started underneath a truck that had pulled to the side. Soon, the flames had fully engulfed the truck and spread to some nearby brush.
The incident was first reported at 12:18 p.m. on the westbound side of I-10 near Ford Street. All westbound lanes were initially closed as a result of the incident, CHP logs showed.
The Redlands Fire Department responded to the scene and prevented the spot fire from spreading very far.

A sig alert was issued at 12:35 p.m. and traffic reports indicated a backup into the Calimesa area. At 12:55 p.m., one lane was reopened to traffic.

All lanes were back open by 2 p.m. No injuries were reported.
