As if high winds are not enough, the national Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for Sunday night through Monday.
Wave sets of 7-9 feet are expected to hit beaches with western exposures. Some waves may top 11 feet in height.
Redondo and Manhattan beaches are primary targets for the high waves, although southwest-facing beaches like Santa Monica and Zuma may also be affected. Water temperatures are between 57 and 61 along the Los Angeles County coast, a bit high for this time of year, the NWS said.
