Woman Found Dead in South Bay

The body was discovered about 6:15 a.m. Monday in Carson. Police did not release cause of death.

CARSON, CA — A woman was found dead Monday in Carson, with the initial investigation not revealing any obvious signs of trauma to her body, a sheriff's deputy said.

The cause of death will have to be determined by an autopsy, according to Deputy Crystal Hernandez.

The body was discovered about 6:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Bitterlake Street, near the Gardena (91) Freeway, Hernandez said.

Deputies were sent to the location in response to a "person not breathing call," Hernandez said. The woman was discovered by a passerby who called 911.

The woman's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Anyone with information on the woman's death was asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222- TIPS.
